Mt. Moriah is celebrating its FOURTH YEAR

March 1st, 2010

As a thank you to its many readers, JtMM is holding a two week long contest.  Throughout the first two weeks of March JtMM is accepting illustration submissions from anyone and everyone.  ALL contestant submissions will be posted on the JtMM site during the first two weeks of March along with a link to the artist’s website (optional).  All art work submissions MUST be inspired by the Stalin character seen here, here and here.  On March 17th, one winner will be selected in a random drawing.  The winning artist will receive an 11×17 print of “Fetish.”  All entries must be submitted by March 14th to be included in the contest.

All submissions must be no wider than 400 pixels.  Any submissions that are wider than 400 pixels will be scaled down to 400 pixels to fit the format.  When submitting, please indicate your name and your website’s URL (if you would like it to be linked) in the email.   Art work can be in any medium (i.e. pencil, pen, paint, digital, etc.).  The winner will be notified by email, and will be asked to provide a mailing address where their prize can be sent.

Email all submissions to:  scott@mtmoriahstudios.com (please include the word CONTEST in the subject line).

This is your opportunity to have YOUR art work displayed on the JtMM site, and possibly win an 11×17 print of “Fetish.”  So have fun, and good luck!

Illustration - Marc Malleable’s Mangey Mutt

January 30th, 2010

Rob Richards has a great blog devoted to animation backgrounds.  A lot of them are from great old movies, and cartoon shorts.  With this illustration, I wanted the background to resemble some of the old animation backgrounds I remember from when I was a kid.

Like this one…

And this one.
